I'll leave the tank for several days to give the paint a chance to harden, before lining and masking out prior to spraying the cream side panels. To make it easier to mask out, I've bought a reel of 6mm flexible masking tape. although it will still require warming a bit before applying I think.
This morning I resprayed the D1 petrol tank - NOT in the kitchen, I must add very quickly - and left it in my heated workshop to dry, This afternoon, I brought the tank indoors and hung it up in my kitchen, over the cooker, so it looks like a cold meal tonight...!

I may use the same masking tape (double, with a gap in between) to apply the pin striping, but that'll be much later, so the paint has time to harden. After that, I've bought an aerosol of lacquer, although I'll test it on a test piece I think, as I've never applied lacquer before and I don't want to 'bugger it all up;' (a technical term, I believe!)
