A BROOD OF BANTAMS
A selection of images of Bantams I have seen on the road of life, others I have known and loved, some I have 'rescued' and restored (sometimes at considerable cost). The blue D7 (seen with me working on it!) was bought as a 'basket' case and what a b****** it was! After searching high and low for all the missing parts it almost got as far as its MoT, but didn't quite make it, so I had to 'let it go'.

The red D7 (which is now blue) - affectionately known as Little Willie - came from Andy Tiernan's at Framlingham, in Suffolk, and has had much love and affection (and money!) bestowed upon it for the past thirty years!
The green D1plunger was even more incomplete than the blue D7, and it took several years and a lot of cash before I lost interest!. |
Much to my son's disappointment - as he'd also spent much time helping with its restoration -I sold the little D1 to a friend of mine, who said he wanted it for his daughter!
Then, fifteen years or so later, I was able to buy it back. Now the little D1 Plunger can be seen tootling around London where my son lives and works, as he rides it whenever he can! |
