My Little Willie's feeling the heat, I think!

I went for another couple of rides today, but my Little Willie is holding back a bit - unless I give her a handful of throttle.  Maybe it's the heat, or it could be the carb needs a clean, although I've added an inline filter wjich looks spotless.  I do have a Mikuni carb I could fit - I've fitted it in the past and the bike went like a rocket!!  I'll take a look tomorrow when she's cooled down a bit.
I checked the points etc, and they look fine - at 15thou - and the timing's not too far out.  But, today she seemed to make much noise, but didn't get anywhere.  What can you expect with 7bhp, I hear you say!  You're right of course.
Happy Banting to you all!

I've been having a ride again!

Little Willie sailed through her MoT again a couple of days ago, and I've been making good use of the sunny weather as well by taking her our for a ride.

One of the first places we went was to the farm, just off Barnham Broom Road, to see Hughie and Eddie.  Hughie's Bantam - D14/4 - is ready for the MoT now and Eddie told me he'd had a ride on it up the lane next to the farm.  It's far nippier than my D7 it seems!  Never mind, speed is not everything, is it?

Oh, I've forgotten to tell you - I had an accident on my other bike - a Honda CBF250 - last week, when a very kind lady driver reversed into to me when trying to park her tin box!  I was stationery at the time, so not to blame (anyhow she admitted liability in front of the policewoman!).  However, my other pride and joy was a bit bent!

I've just heard from CN Repair in Altricham that my immaculate 06-plate Honda  may be a 'borderline case' for the insurance company to repair at £1400, so I may just get the market value, whatever that is!

Great! Just what I wanted after all the trouble I've been through with my 'lady partner' these past nine months!  But, more of that in my next instalment of Fifty-five Shades of Gray - if you're interested in the nitty gritty, that is!

Have you missed me and my Little Willie?

"It's ages since I last made an entry here on Little Willie's website, isn't it?"
"OK! What's your excuse then? Did you sell Little Willie, or has she been causing you problems?"
"No! Nothing like that!"
"What's your excuse then?"
"Women trouble!"
"Women trouble?  How ever many are there?"
"Only one - but that's a bit complicated...!"
"Didn't she like your little Willie?"
"No, nothing like that - in fact, she quite like it..."
"And little Willie as well?"
"No! It's not like that - in fact, she seemed quite content with my willie, if you know what I mean."
"OMG! - you haven't, have you?... at your age... surely not... you'll not have to add a side-car, will you?"
"No - not for the want of trying though..."
"Liked a ride did she?"
"You don't expect me to answer that, do you?"

    Boy Albie

I've been the proud owner of a 1965 BSA Bantam D7 since 1991, affectionately known as Little Willie (Wilhelmina) and love to take her out for a ride so that others can see her.

I get all sorts of comments, such as: "I used to have one of those," to "I didn't know they were blue - weren't they always green?"

But what I do notice is the big smiles on people's faces when they see - and hear - us coming!

    Long may it continue!
