Yes, Little Willie seemed really pleased when I decided to finish her tank with some gold coach-lining (well, not exactly painted on, but with pin-stripes I bought from my friend Matt at Wymondham Motorists' Centre.
"Moind yew, ole paartner, I did git a bit flummoxed when Boy Albie started undoin' me nuts an' tearkin' me tank orf! Then he drearned orl me petril out an' started t'heat me tank wi' a hare-drier! Thass enuff ter mearke ut blow up, wunt ut? I wuz hoolly glad he wuz in the workshop an' I wuz in the gardin. I didnt watta go up in flearmes even if the silly bugger did!"
After warming the tape it softened enough to go round the sharp bends at the front and back of the tank, and the end result gained us some really positive comments - as well as looking really good! It's more of an antique gold pinstripe, rather than being too yellow, and just finishes the tank off nicely.
"I'm hoolly proud, I am, I kin hold me handlebars high wherever I go now... if I bump inta the Queen next week, I reckun I could be in for a noighthood! Boy Albie dunt know what orl the fuss is about, arter orl, he shood know as Her Majesty's accession ter har throne wuz on his barthdear when he wuz eleven - thass when har farther, King George VI died in Sandrinum. Moind yew, Boy Albie reckun that got him the rest a the dear orf skewl that did! Moind how yew go, tergether!"
