As you will recall from an earlier blog I let Little Willie suffer from fuel starvation on Saturday (ran out of petroil!). When I took a can to get a gallon from the filling station I didn't put the usual amount of oil in as I'd almost run out of that as well! I had been putting two measures of oil per gallon (a metal measure is fitted under my fuel cap). I guess, on this occasion, I put in one and a quarter measures. Would that be enough, I wondered? Or will the piston nip up? However, I have to report that the bike seems much nippier (what for a Bantam?) than usual. I've calculated that the petrol/oil ratio must be somewhere in the region of 32 to 1. Anyone else anything to add, please?

Boy AlbieI've been the proud owner of a 1965 BSA Bantam D7 since 1991, affectionately known as Little Willie (Wilhelmina) and love to take her out for a ride so that others can see her. Archives
