I had to modify the flange holes as they weren't quite in the right place. What I did was to make two cuts (per side) to end up with slots rather than holes.
I've also modified a couple of washers, so as not to put too much stress on the flange when the bolts are retightened.
I have yet to sort out the Bantam air cleaner (such as it is!). But I may fit the larger air cleaner fitted to sports models, as it's no longer necessary to use the choke slide on the existing air cleaner as there's a lever on the side of the VM22 carb.
And, guess what? When I fitted the new carb, Little Wille started first kick and ran like a dream! All the knocks and rattles heard in the past, seem to have been coming from the worn Amal slide! More details in a day or two!
