Recently, Little Willie has had a tendency to 'clank' on over-run or after closing the throttle. To start with I thought the drive chain could be slack, and could have been hit the chain-guard, so I decided to tighten it. I went out for a ride this morning but, on over-run, it started to clack again. Any ideas, anyone? It is not noticeable on tick-over, or when revved up, just on the move but not all the time. It's very hard to pinpoint the source of the noise as, what with the exhaust being a bit 'sporty', the piston slap and little-end noise tends to add to the engine noise as well. Perhaps it's getting time for another engine rebuild....?

Boy AlbieI've been the proud owner of a 1965 BSA Bantam D7 since 1991, affectionately known as Little Willie (Wilhelmina) and love to take her out for a ride so that others can see her. Archives
